It's been a while since I fleshed her out. I felt she needed a quick refresh on her design. Didn't change much, mainly the bow, removed her shoulder piece and her tattoo mask is now bigger and on both eyes. Reworked her hairstyle to be a little more lose as well.

I worked on Elly’s design for about 2 years on and off. My goal from the very start was to create an appealing character that I could use as a mascot & subject to try new styles, techniques or different projects, it eventually turned into brainstorming an entire fantasy world around her.

When it came down to how she would look I went through a couple revisions of her design. Ultimately I applied some basic graphic design principles and fashioned her outfit to be as simple and as recognizable as possible at any size and pose.

One of the best ways to give characters life is to make an expression sheet and go through a bunch of their emotions to come to grip with how their personality is and how they’d interact with their surroundings.
